Who is this course for?

This course is ideal for learners who are currently working in the industry experienced in completing skin needling treatments. These learners may have completed manufacturer’s training and would like to upskill their training to achieve a regulated qualification. This course will provide you will the knowledge and skill to complete micro needling treatments to treat a range of face and body conditions. With our small class sizes and online resources available, you will be well supported on your learning journey.

What is Microneedling?

Micro needling (MN) involves the use of a series of fine needles, which can be rolled or moved over the skin. Through physical trauma from needle penetration, MN induces a wound-healing cascade with minimal damage to the epidermis. 

The creation of abundant micro-wounds directly stimulates the release of various growth factors that play a direct role in collagen and elastin synthesis and deposition within the dermis. 

Course Content 

In order to achieve this qualification, learners will complete: 

• Theory class online (self-guided) 1 day
• Additional home study hrs to be completed
• 2 Practical classes in our Aesthetics Academy in Newry. 
• Complete 6 clinical case studies for a portfolio of evidence 
• Final practical and theory examinations with External iTEC Examiner. 

Practical Classes

When you attend the academy for practical classes, you will observe a demo of a skin peel then work on models to complete your treatment practice, clinical case studies and exam preparation. Your teacher will give you feedback on your treatments and prepare you for the external VTCT iTEC practical and theory exams at the end of the course.

Examinations

External VTCT iTEC practical and theory exams will be held at the end of the course. The date will be arranged according to examiner availability. The practical exam and theory exam can be completed on the same day.

Course Duration

This course is one day per week for 3 weeks with external iTEC examinations taking place after the end of your course.

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will receive a certificate from the government-recognised iTEC examination board, which is fully insurable. 

Results of examinations can take 4-6 weeks to be sent back to the academy.
