The main aim of the VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology is to enable learners to gain the necessary underpinning knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology required by the complementary therapies, beauty therapy and sport and fitness industry. This qualification provides a sound platform into further training at level 3. 

This is a self-paced course and we recommend that you study one anatomical system per week. You should aim to spend at least 8.5 hours actively partaking in lessons, quizzes or studying per system.

Course Content 

This qualification is for learners who want to work within the complementary therapies, beauty therapy or sport and fitness industry. The qualification consists of 1 mandatory unit in which you will learn about the anatomy, physiology and pathology of the body systems.

As well as the organisation of the human body, the anatomical systems you will cover are: 

  • Cells and Tissues
  • Integumentary System
  • Skeletal System
  • Muscular System
  • Cardiovascular System
  • Lymphatic System
  • Respiratory System
  • Endocrine System
  • Digestive System
  • Nervous System
  • Urinary System
  • Reproductive System

How Is The Course Assessed?

Once you complete all lessons, quizzes, and the final MCQ mock test, you can then complete your final external iTEC MCQ exam. This final external examination will be invigilated by the iTEC examination board. There are approximately 50 questions to answer and they are multiple choice, meaning you will have a question with 4 possible answers. You must choose 1 answer per question (unless the examination board has stated otherwise). The final iTEC MCQ exam will be booked after all lessons are completed.
