Laser and IPL Training for hair removal and skin rejuvenation.

Laser and IPL training is a great option for therapists who would like to up-skill their current skillset.

This course will develop your knowledge not only of the skin and different conditions, but also the hair structure and treatment for permanent hair reduction.

Course Details

We are the first Academy in Northern Ireland to be approved by the RQIA to offer this training. Moreover, we are currently the only Academy in Northern Ireland offering Laser and IPL training.

Firstly, You will complete the essential theory online via our platform. You will complete 4 written assignments for the main units in this qualification:

1. Management of health, safety, and security in the salon
2. Client care and communication in beauty- related industries
3. Laser and light treatments for hair removal
4. Laser and light treatments for skin rejuvenation

These assignments are explained, in full, on the online platform. You can email your completed assignments to your assessor. Your assessor will mark them and give you feedback.

Practical Training

Secondly, after you complete the online theory, you will attend the academy for practical training and practical assessments. You will work with our Venus Versa IPL machine, which has contact cooling and handpieces of different wavelengths, in order to treat different skin types for hair removal and skin rejuvenation including vascular lesions, pigmentation and fine lines and wrinkles. You will also work with our Lumenis Lightsheer Diode Laser for Hair Removal. This laser has the ability to treat a range of Fitzpatrick Skin Types. It also has contact cooling, as well as a high-speed handpiece for a comfortable and fast treatment.

We have a bank of models for you to work on, which will allow you to work on all areas confidently and competently. On occasion, students will also work on each other after receiving a patch test. Essential theory will be reviewed during practical sessions.

In addition to the Laser and IPL Training, you will receive access to our online Core of Knowledge course. Core Of Knowledge is a requirement of the RQIA in Northern Ireland. This is essential knowledge for those using laser and light devices. Furthermore, it will reinforce the theory learning you complete for the Laser and IPL course on our online platform.
